Beans are measured (to pay workers) and sorted in the pool. Good beans sink, lower quality beans float.
After fermentation and some processing, the beans are dried by machine or in the sun on concrete slabs where they are raked to turn them. Then they can be roasted.

Monteverde

Puntarenas
Having a Churchill along the beach in Puntarenas. A Churchill is a combination snow cone and ice cream treat.

To the Caribbean Coast: Playa Cocles and Manzanillo

We passed many banana plantations near the Caribbean coast
We stayed in this air bnb named Casa Cocles. It is all open air, no glass in the windows and the kitchen and sitting areas were open to the outside.
We ate in this restaurant one night
To our surprise they had musicians. Here you can hear a little sample of their music.
We went hiking at the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. Some of the time we were on the beach.
The trail can be slick and muddy. They used old tires to create stairs in some places.
