Santa Elena Canyon. The right side is the US, the left is Mexico. We hiked up a trail on the US side.

From the cliffs of Santa Elena Canyon we saw a rainbow. Just after getting down and to the car, those sand bars we crossed there by the Rio Grande river were under water.

A flash flood covered the road for several hours into the night. Skunks, peccary and other animals wandered by.

Lajitas is a little settlement just outside Big Bend
